"Life Cycle"
This was also a commission, by a man wanting a painting as a tribute to his
recently deceased father, who had loved to fish. There were nine children in
the family, thus the nine smaller fish in the border. And the fact that the larger
fish is eating a smaller one, I think speaks to trusting the natural cycle of life,
which is a source of comfort when dealing with death.
