Hello! Thanks for visiting the mandala gallery! My name is Janine
Ruth Logue Wooten, and I would like to briefly share how
I found myself painting mandalas. Here is a video that describes
how I learned:
I
am the mother of 2 wonderful sons; Chip (24), and Mark (17). I have
been very blessed to be able to be a "stay-at-home" mom
for these important years, [ Thank you Mimi, Big Dad, and Ed ],
although in my case the term is a definite misnomer!
Actually, being an "at-home" mom has given me the opportunity
to pursue many various interests, most of which were seemingly
unrelated, until recently. For example, I have studied mathematics,
karate, religions, pottery, and tai chi, to name just a few!
Anyway, a couple of years ago, one of my very good friends asked me if
I could find some nice mandalas that would help him through a difficult
time in his life. My search took me to the Internet, which led me to
attend a mandala painting workshop (even though I had no previous education
in art whatsoever!), where I fell in love with art, with painting, and specifically
with mandalas.
Talk about things "coming full circle"! (How could they not -
we are talking about mandalas, right ? The word means "circle"!).
In the process of helping my friend, I found my own passion!
And I am certain that it is no coincidence that this passion incorporates
not only art, but also mathematics and spirituality ! Also, imagine
my amazement when I recently read that pottery and tai chi are
also forms of mandalas, because they are activities that involve
centering!
Nothing is by chance here! Each of the previous interests that seemed
unrelated were actually stepping stones on my path, my own labyrinth, spiraling,
slowly bringing me closer to the center and to my purpose.
